100 Greediest Cases!
The St. Louis Post Dispatch has an annual fundraiser for the "100 Neediest Cases." It's similar to the NYTimes program. While I give to the neediest, I like to remember the greediest too, so I am initiating a campaign to raise funds for the neediest by naming the greediest people in our metro area. I’ll be nominating people during the holiday season and for each nominee, I will donate $10 to the Neediest.
My readers are encouraged to make similar pledges in the amount of at least $1 per greediest. Also, I'm asking readers to nominate the greediests. Just e-mail me at normansblog75@gmail.com and let me know if you want your pledge or nomination to be public or private.
Here are today's nominations:
Perryville, Missouri financial adviser Darrell Niswonger, and his business partner, Jim Johnson, were sentenced in federal court for running a 20-year, $5.6 million Ponzi scheme that stole savings — sometimes emptying entire retirement accounts — from 98 people, shocking this southeast Missouri town.
